2019-2020 PTA Reflections Program

It's never too early to start thinking about next year's Reflections Entry. Next year's theme is "Look Within".

Students can choose from the following categories:  Dance Choreography, Music, Literature, Photography or Visual Arts.  Entry forms can be found HERE and program rules are listed HERE.  Please note that the student or one parent must be a member of the PTA in order to submit an entry.

The National PTA Reflections program encourages students of all ages and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts.  Students are recognized each year for their artistic ingenuity to bring the theme to life in a way that is personal and meaningful.

Welcome Back Wolfpack!

A Note from the President

Welcome Back Plano West families!  I hope you have enjoyed your summer so far.  It feels a little early to already be thinking about Back to School, but here we are in the middle of July and school is just a few short weeks away.

I am very excited to be serving our Plano West community as President of the Wolf Den PTSA this year.  We have an incredible group of volunteers serving on our Board who have been working to put together some amazing opportunities for our students, our staff and our community.

The mission of the Wolf Den PTSA is to make every student’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.  I hope you will join us this year by becoming a member of our PTSA and helping to support us in this mission.  Your membership dollars help us provide educational enhancement grants to staff, over $10,000 in senior scholarships, and programs and activities that benefit our entire Plano West community.

The Wolf Den PTSA is also a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which means all donations are tax deductible.  We welcome financial donations, as well as in-kind donations for use at events such as our West After Prom Party in the Spring.  If you would like more information about ways you can help us in this area, please let me know!

If you are looking for a way to be involved, we have lots of opportunities for volunteers!  Whether you are looking for a one-time event or several opportunities throughout the year, we will help you find the right fit!  I encourage all parents, especially those with graduating seniors this year, to get involved and volunteer for at least one event.  I promise you will be glad you did!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at our Plano West Orientation Day on Wednesday, July 31st from 9 am - 1 pm.  This is a come and go event for students and their parents to walk their schedules, purchase spirit wear from our Booster Clubs and learn more about all the wonderful activities available for students to get involved in at Plano West.  Our Wolf Den PTSA will have representatives in the main hallway outside the cafeteria to answer any PTSA-related questions you may have.  We will also have Plano West pencil bags available for purchase and membership forms to join the Wolf Den PTSA.

I hope you will also join us for our first PTSA Meeting of the year on Monday, August 19th at 9 am in the Plano West Presentation Room.  We will have a brief PTSA meeting followed by a welcome from our Plano West Principal Janis Williams and several members of our Plano West administrative, counseling and athletics staff.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and we will see you on Wednesday, July 31st for Orientation Day!

Go Wolf Pack!

Rhonda Snyder

2019-2020 President, Wolf Den PTSA
